SeaDevil Divers Photo Contest

    Just bring your best shot! ... slide or print!

    Entry is $5 for one print or slide or $10 for three entries.  We will be awarding recognition including a month long showing at ACAC for the best shots in a whole gamut of categories on a local basis; however, we will honor the entry guidelines for submission to the MASRA Contest described below.  

    There is no additional fee for submission to the MASRA Contest.  Winners and first runner ups in each category locally will be submitted to the MASRA Contest

    Deadline:  Submit your print or slide to Dive Connections by 4pm Saturday, February 22.

    Showing:  ACAC Monday, February 24evening 7pm-8pm in the conference room. Everyone is welcome;  snacks and and hospitality for everyone.

    Judging & Awards: Judges will meet following the Showing and Awards will be announce at DEW Scuba on March 10th.

Mid-Atlantic SCUBA Retailers Association
Rules & Guidelines

    The Mid-Atlantic SCUBA Retailers Association, a group of dive retailers from Virginia and Suburban Maryland, is sponsoring an underwater photography contest in 2003.

   The results of this contest will be made public, and winners honored at the Underwater Photography Gala to be held at Martin's Crosswinds in Greenbelt, MD on April 13, 2002. Tickets for the Gala are $40 per person.

   A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.

Macro Photography
Fish Photography
Wide Angle Photography
 Digital Print
New Photographer - (a person who has exposed less than 20 rolls of film underwater)

Contest Rules

  1. Underwater Photographers may submit slides of underwater subjects at any of the locations listed. Entry fee is $5.00 per slide, or 3 for $10. Each slide must be marked with the photographer's name and telephone number. Slides are to be accompanied with a brief registration form identifying which category that the photographer is submitting the slide to. Entry fees must be made payable to the Sponsoring Store that the slide is submitted to.
  2. All entries from Charlottesville must be submitted to Dive Connections by 4pm Saturday, February 22.
  3. Each sponsoring location will judge slides entered at their location and forward the winning slide and 1st runner-up form each category to the regional judges not later than February 28, 2003.
  4. MASRA judging will be conducted in early April 2003. A winner will be selected for each category, as well as Best of Show. Awards will be announced and the photographers recognized at the Underwater Photography Gala on April 13, 2003.
  5. All winning slides and 1st runner up slides submitted by the Sponsoring Stores will be shown at the Underwater Photography Gala. The Awards Ceremony will take place immediately afterward. This black-tie optional event will be conducted from 6:30 - 10:00 PM, and feature light hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.
  6. The Sponsoring Stores, and the Mid-Atlantic SCUBA Retailer's Association may use all submitted photographs for promotional purposes.
  7. The decisions of the judges are final.
